VP of Professional Dev – Hannah Lyons
- Hannah might want to focus on city center

- Send out survey to Chattanooga designers to gauge interest in IIDA
- June – NCIDQ prep day with Knox
- July – Outdoor cleanup day: hiking trail or something of the sort
- Sept – Mixer at Southside Social
- Nov – Food Drive
- Soliciting members:
o There were 6 chat attendees this year. They need to be our first members.
o Focus on Juniors and Seniors
- Snacks in finals week
- Discussion around gathering Emerging Professionals in some capacity? Can work with other city centers to coordinate/grow.
VP of Student Affairs – Jerica Banks
- Student & Professional Mixer events
- A day in the life: 3 or 4 local design firms in a day
- Working job site tour
- Sponsor a project studio review in a sponsor office
- Maybe speed mentoring happens during a class? Professional development class?
- State-wide student expo?
VP of Advocacy – Claudia Lofton
- Discussed partnering with NCIDQ prep days to continue educating range of folks with what we do
- Prioritizing getting a committee together to support the advocacy effort. Need to have help to accomplish events.
- Create video (Q&A style) to spread awareness. Will post to YouTube.
- Missy and City Centers offered to help find committee to spread support.
- Reviewed what has been accomplished thus far – lecture series, bylaw revision (improvement), Don Baltimore and legislative effort.
- Inspired by CLC effort, think it’s important to make a mission statement for what we would like to accomplish.
- How do we cover Don’s fee? $7500/year incorporated in budget. Can that be incorporated into budgets for each city center? Suggestion to ask everyone for $1 at events and raise small increments.
- Referenced being inspired by “not a decorator” designer – collaborate with her potentially?
- Could include Advocacy information in sponsorship package to inform sponsors and note that part of sponsorship supports this effort.
- TN Idea website is down because board isn’t active, decided not to pay for that. Agreed ASID and IIDA would include tab on our website so people know the coalition exists.
- Include blurb with photo about Don on website – could also have videos here.
- NextGen event is something we could recreate, could add real benefit. Designers Discussing Design from CLC video was reminder. Would love to host similar event to create networking opportunity for peers.
VP of Membership – Caryn Kirkland
- Looking forward to reviewing membership list and gaining better understanding of our membership status.
- Putting together marketing piece to educate membership – sometime next year to help build up committees, etc.
- New member coffees – bi-monthly? Depends on how people come into membership. Welcoming people on social media – communications currently shares list but
- “Swag Bag” – industry relations will help distribute these to new members. Caryn can inventory what we have and evaluate.
- IIDA Membership table at Inspire?
- Free membership campaign? Last year we gave 2 away to students, and 1 professional away at can-struction event. Referral incentive? Attend the most events and win a free membership?
- Partnership with Student Affairs and City Center directors to be more of a presence in each respective city.
- Designer survey – standard questions about what people want? Think about how to incentivize to increase participation.
- Some events, do we offer a “bring a friend” option? Which events is this plausible?
- Big emphasis will be Chattanooga membership push. Need certain number to be
