NCIDQ Exam Eligibility Requirements

NCIDQ maintains minimum education and work experience requirements for eligibility to take the NCIDQ Examination. The amount of combined education and work experience required depends on certain characteristics of each. NCIDQ has developed six eligibility routes for determining when you are eligible to apply to take the exam.

NCIDQ Experience Requirements

All work experience used to satisfy the eligibility requirements must be interior-design-related. Work experience may be full-time or part-time. NCIDQ recommends working under the direct supervision of an NCIDQ Certificate holder, a registered Interior Designer or an architect who offers Interior Design services to ensure that 100% of your work experience counts.  Check here for NCIDQ’s qualified work experience information.

Student members

Student members are a key component to a successful IIDA Chapter. Tennessee has numerous exceptional Interior Design schools, many of which have IIDA Chapters. Any interior design student can join IIDA, even if their school does not have a Student Chapter. Student members are welcomed and encouraged to be involved with their City Center and State Chapter.

This is an incredible opportunity to begin to build networks, meet local professionals, find out about internship opportunities and companies, and establish a reputation, all before graduation! Student membership is $60 annually, and most IIDA events are free or discounted for student members. Contact the VP of Students Affairs below for more information on membership, or on creating a new Student Chapter.
